The Faith Community Staff

The church staff works as a team to offer the best possible resources for everyone, whether you are a first time guest or a regular attender. Each member of our team is a leader who prioritizes God in their lives, as well as the overall goals of the church.

  • Lead Pastor

    Kevin Gingerich

Pastor Kevin was appointed to the Sheldon UMC in June of 2013.  Kevin has a passion for Jesus, and he brings enthusiasm toward serving.  When thinking about his role as pastor, Kevin often thinks of himself as a cheerleader, encouraging others to be in love with Jesus and involved in serving others in some way.  His favorite scripture is John 13.  Kevin truly loves children of all ages, and he has the goal of bringing more of God’s children home and helping them to walk with the Lord.

Kevin was united in marriage on June 11, 1983, to Susan.  They are parents of five, with a growing number of in-laws and grandchildren.  Kevin attended college at Iowa Wesleyan in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and received a Master of Divinity degree from Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado.  He began his full time pastoral ministry in the United Methodist Church in Iowa in June of 1987, ordained as a full elder in 1990.  He was ordained as a deacon in 1985, serving in ministry as an intern at Hugoton Kansas for a couple of years.  In his spare time Kevin loves to be at sporting events, and you will find him at the Frisbee Golf course many afternoons.

  • Youth & Technology Director

    Jacob Sandholm

Jacob Sandholm is the youth & technology director at Faith Community Church. He felt called to ministry during his senior year of high school, and he has been on the journey ever since then. He was born and raised here in Sheldon, IA until the age of 20. He came back to Sheldon to become the youth pastor here at the church. He has a bachelors degree from the University of Iowa in the field of social work, and he is currently working on getting his Masters of Divinity degree from Sioux Falls Seminary. Jacob says that he has an obsession to help people and to show Christs love to everyone that he encounters. Some of his hobbies include: Reading the Bible, playing video games, singing, watching sports, and spending time with his family. Speaking of his family, Jacob got married to his wife, Sarah on July 15, 2017. Together, they have a dog named Sebastian, a cat named Sophie, and a beautiful one year old daughter named Marilyn. All in all, he is very excited to help the youth of Sheldon spread Gods love to the community and beyond.

  • Children's Ministry Director

    Michelle Noack

Michelle Noack became the Children’s Ministry Coordinator in May of 2019. She loves God and loves to work with kids. She has had a lot of past experience with helping the children here at the church by volunteering in multiple student ministries, such as being a Sunday school teacher, VBS crew leader, cook and server for the summer lunch program, and much more. She felt that all of these areas of service was God’s way of preparing her for her role in this position.

Michelle got married to her loving husband, Ron on September 26, 2004. Nine years ago, she moved here to Sheldon with her husband Ron and their two boys from Illinois. Michelle and her family joined the church in June of 2011. In July of 2012, Michelle and Ron welcomed their daughter into their family. Michelle also has been a licensed hairdresser since 1996. She still enjoys that profession, but just part-time. When Michelle isn’t working, she enjoys helping out at Awanas, doing Bible studies, working out, and relaxing at home with her family.
